Support for Impoverished Elderly

The Better Living Conditions initiative was created by Age Concern Nelson Tasman to improve support for older adults living in poor and unsanitary conditions by working collaboratively with multiple agencies.

These individuals frequently lack support, have limited finances, and face health issues that go unaddressed due to difficulties in accessing healthcare. The Better Living Conditions approach assists these individuals in a consistent and effective manner and prevents double-ups by ensuring everyone around the table is on board with what is happening.

The Care Foundation provided grants in both 2022 and 2024 to support the Better Living Conditions initiative.
